360,000\u2026no, 18,000 years ago, an upstart developer/publisher released a beautiful video game. To me it seems like yesterday, for you it might be 2011. I'm talking, of course, about Ignition Entertainment's eye-catching El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron.

For various personal and professional reasons I (Diamond Feit) have long held a soft spot for this largely forgotten title. I wrote a column about it for its tenth anniversary but there's so much more to say about a game this gorgeous and thoroughly weird.

To help me say those things, I reached out to Apocrypals hosts Chris Sims and Benito Cereno along with former Ignition Entertainment employee Shane Bettenhausen. Together, the four of us go over Enoch, Angels, God, the Bible, and the initial HD-era of video games\u2014all in less than three centuries!
